Comments on behalf of the airline members of the International Air Carrier Association (IACA) on the European Commission’s public consultation on the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
In January 2011, the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health & Consumers (DG SANCO) released a consultation document, relating to the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution as a means to resolve disputes following commercial transactions in the European Union. This document lists a series of questions and options with respect to the use of ADR for all kinds of transactions.
The Commission’s consultation is not specific to aviation. Nevertheless, IACA wishes to contribute to the consultation exercise, in case ADRs would be set up to deal with aviation-related disputes.
