Presentation of the Airport Sustainable Development Strategy promoted by CPK

Airlines International Representation in Europe (AIRE) sponsored the presentation of the Airport Sustainable Development Strategy promoted by the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK). The strategy was launched at the event in Brussels titled “Sustainable Journey: Navigating the Future of Aviation”, which highlighted the potential of this project to successfully address key challenges in the European transport sector.

Key stakeholders from the sector took part in the presentation, such as Jakub Łoch (Airport Division Acting Director of CPK), Anna Kłos-Gójska (Environmental Protection Department Manager in the Fuel Office at LOT Polish Airlines), Robert Ludera (Network & Alliances Director at LOT Polish Airlines), Andrew Matters (Director, Policy, and Economics I S&E-Policy and Standards at IATA), Olivier Jankovec (Director General at ACI EUROPE), and Dominik Piotrowski (Deputy Head of Unit, Aviation Policy Unit at DG MOVE). The panel discussion was moderated by Dave Keating, from Euractiv.

It was an extraordinary opportunity to get an up-close look of CPK project, which from the first day of operation will have ‘Net Zero Ready Airport’ status. This means technical readiness to be powered exclusively from on-site and off-site renewable energy sources for heating, cooling, and power supply. Since the EU’s Strategy for Sustainable and Smart Mobility emphasises the need for deep transformation, the CPK project will reshape the landscape of European aviation.
