AIRE supports air passenger rights legislation that ensures a fair and reasonable balance between consumer protection and the operational realities of airlines. We believe that revising Regulation (EC) 261/2004 is essential to provide greater legal clarity and consistency across the EU. 

The current regulation is overly broad and lacks precision on key issues, resulting in inconsistent court interpretations and legal uncertainty for both passengers and airlines.
