Between 9 and 11 February, Nadine Braun, AIRE’s Sustainability Policy Advisor, attended the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Symposium & Sustainable Aviation Futures (MENA) Conference in Abu Dhabi. This important event brought together key stakeholders from the aviation industry to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the sector, particularly in the context of sustainability and the future of air travel.
The conference provided a platform for in-depth discussions on a range of topics critical to the future of aviation. Among the primary areas of focus were the financing and infrastructure necessary to scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) globally. Experts, policymakers, and industry leaders explored the mechanisms, incentives, and regulatory frameworks needed to accelerate SAF adoption and reduce the carbon footprint of the aviation industry. These discussions are pivotal in shaping the next steps for the sector’s transition towards more sustainable practices.
By engaging with thought leaders and contributing to these critical conversations, AIRE reaffirmed its role as a key player in advocating for innovative, practical solutions that can help transform the aviation sector into a greener, more sustainable industry.
We are proud to have been part of this key event and remain dedicated to driving positive change by supporting the adoption of sustainable technologies and policies that promote a low-carbon future for aviation. As we continue our work, AIRE is committed to collaborating with industry leaders, governments, and other stakeholders to ensure a successful and sustainable transformation of the aviation sector.
