Placing excessive burdens on the industry—such as fuel taxation (including sustainable fuels), complex monitoring obligations, or insufficient support for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production—risks undermining the competitiveness of EU aviation. A balanced approach is essential to ensure environmental progress without placing European carriers at a strategic disadvantage on the global stage.
